Moodle is an Open Source Course Management System (CMS), also known as a Learning Management System (LMS) or a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). It has become very popular among educators around the world as a tool for creating online dynamic web sites for their students. You can find out more about Moodle, how to get it and use it, on the Moodle community site moodle.org.

Many TAFE courses use the Moodle system as a supplementary course delivery platform. Teachers use Moodle to store course information, such as assessment dates and instructions, as well as Student Assessment Guides*. Teachers may also upload resources for students on the  Moodle, such as readings, links, videos and photos. Students are often required to upload their assignments to the course Moodle.

Wikispaces

An administrator will create a wikispace, they will then invite people to become a members of the wikispace via your email a link which they follow to create an username and password.

Members of a wikispace can create pages, which any member can edit. Members can also comment and have discussions about certain topices from the pages.

You can also SMS from a skype account to mobile phones.

There is also chat capabilities on Skype accounts.

Looking at wikis

To create a Wiki, in Wikipedia there needs to be two or more valid references related to the topic.
This helps to detemine whether this a notable topic (person, place, flim, food, etc.)

Anyone can edit a Wiki in Wikipedia; however false/offensive information will usually deleted.

uploading a video from Youtube

1. Go to 'new post'

2. Click on 'insert a video' from the tool bar.

3. Select 'From Youtube'

4. Type the name of the video in the search bar

5. Hit Enter

6. Click on the video you would like to upload
7. Click on 'select'.
